The Steese Fire Service Area is currently replacing the old Farmer's Loop Fire Station #1. The new location is 800 Farmer's Loop Road at the corner of Skyline Drive. Construction began in June of 2006. The contract was awarded to Stanton Construction and is due to be completed by February 2007. The new construction was made possible by a $1,050,000 state grant with the strong support of State representative Mike Kelly. The Fire Service Area contributed the remaining balance of $1,150,000 for a total construction project cost of $2.2 million. This project would not have been possible without the dedicated hard work of Representative Kelly and the Steese Fire Service Area Commissioners. Your commission has spent hundreds of volunteer hours on this project working with FNSB Emergency Operations Director Dave Tyler, our Borough Mayor Jim Whitaker, Public Works Department Director Scott Johnson with his staff Randy Johnson and project manager Bud Marschner.
